In the upper part of the picture, circles and curves of yellow, pink, teal and violet mingle like a kaleidoscope, while below, an ink-grey mist settles low. Between them, a brown butterfly, a blue butterfly and a black butterfly each spread their wings and dance. Wherever a butterfly passes, a curve is born, and those curves join together to bind the whole picture into one. There is an old story of a man who dreamed he was a butterfly fluttering freely, and on waking could not tell whether he had dreamed of the butterfly or the butterfly was dreaming of him. Me and the butterfly, the caterpillar and the butterfly, beauty and ugliness: those borders are fainter than we think. And it is right there, where the borders blur, that the butterfly flies most freely.
