Hyun Jung Lee

Hyun Jung Lee specialized in Oriental Painting (Korean painting) at Ewha Womans University and completed her master's degree in the same field at the university's graduate school. Furthermore, she earned a master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication (Buddhist Communication) and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Dongguk University.

Having grown up with art from an early age, Lee Hyun Jung has built her unique world by interpreting various moments of life through art and spiritual practice. In particular, she communicated with the public as an Announcer for Buddhist Broadcasting System (BBS) for over 20 years. She also led civic movements as a first-generation pioneer of the Korean multicultural movement.

Her artistic career began in 1985 with the Korean Young Artists Exhibition. She has participated in numerous domestic and international group exhibitions, including the Frontier Festival and receiving a Special Selection in the Grand Buddhist Exhibition of Korea. In 1990, her works were showcased at the A.A.I. Grand Art Exhibition and the Salon Grandes Et Jeunes D'Aujourd'hui (Grand Palais, Paris, France). She has continued her active career with many solo and group exhibitions, including a solo exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1991.
