The Fan – Simply Our Mountain부채 – 그냥 우리 산

It is neither a famous mountain nor a tourist site. Yet it is the kind of mountain everyone keeps in their heart: our mountain, holding my memories and feelings just as they are. Whenever I went, it welcomed me without change, and in its embrace I found wordless comfort.

An old saying goes that the benevolent love mountains. A mountain is still and does not move, and so it endures. Painting it, I thought of people who resemble mountains: quiet yet warm, not rugged yet steady. It is all right not to be grand. Simply our mountain is enough.

이름난 산도, 관광지도 아니다. 그러나 누구나 마음속에 하나쯤 품고 있는 산, 내 기억과 감정이 고스란히 담긴 우리 산이다. 그 산은 언제 가도 변함없이 나를 반겨 주었고, 나는 그 품에서 말없는 위로를 받았다.

어진 사람은 산을 좋아한다는 옛말이 있다. 산은 고요해서 움직이지 않고, 그래서 오래 간다. 그 산을 그리며 산을 닮은 사람들을 떠올렸다. 조용하지만 따뜻하고, 험하지 않지만 단단한 이들. 대단하지 않아도 괜찮다. 그냥 우리 산이면 충분하다.
