Radiant Oneness: Awakening Life빛의 합일: 생명의 깨어남

On the left of the fan hangs a red sun, and on the right a soft yellow moon. Between them, clouds of earth-brown and yellow, wound with ink lines, link the two in a curving arc, and beneath them blue and green peaks rise in quiet. Day and night, sun and moon, share a single fan. The I Ching says, "One yin and one yang: this is called the Way." With only the sun, the world would parch; with only the moon, it would grow cold. When two different things are joined by clouds, the mountains breathe and life awakens. May the light and the dark within us, too, become one in this way. Each time the fan is waved, may that harmony spread gently on the breeze.

부채 왼쪽에는 붉은 해가, 오른쪽에는 은은한 노란 달이 떠 있다. 둘 사이를 흙빛과 노란빛 구름들이 먹선을 감고 둥글게 이어 주고, 그 아래로 푸르고 초록인 산봉우리들이 고요히 솟아 있다. 낮과 밤, 해와 달이 한 부채 안에 함께 있다. 『주역』은 "일음일양지위도(一陰一陽之謂道)", 한 번은 음이 되고 한 번은 양이 되는 것을 도(道)라 했다. 해만 있으면 메마르고, 달만 있으면 차갑다. 서로 다른 둘이 구름으로 이어질 때 산이 숨 쉬고 생명이 깨어난다. 우리 안의 밝음과 어둠도 그렇게 하나가 될 수 있기를. 부채를 부칠 때마다 그 조화로운 기운이 부드럽게 퍼져 나가기를.
