Dancing Avalokiteshvara

This painting captures the compassionate movement of Avalokiteshvara, who dances and calmly transcends the waves of the world. The waters surging beneath the Bodhisattva's feet are the endless afflictions of the world, but her dance is never shaken. Her flowing movement is not mere rhythm. It is the most perfect flow of compassion that embraces and sublimates suffering. I feel an boundless aura of comfort and blessing directed toward me in her gentle fingertips and flowing robes. Through this work, I earnestly hope that I, too, can learn the posture of liberation, crossing all the waves of life as if dancing.
