This painting expresses the stage of life with vivid colors and a dynamic composition. On the stage, various roles and scenes continuously shift, and the audience applauds while enjoying those moments. However, a quiet darkness always resides backstage. Though often ignored, that darkness may, in fact, be a more truthful space than the brilliant stage itself.

Our lives are similar. Every day, we stand on the stage, performing roles and striving to meet someone else's expectations. Yet, I sometimes ask: ‘Am I the true me right now? Am I genuinely smiling while laughing on this stage?’ There is an illusion hidden within the splendor, and within that illusion, there is still the voice of truth that writhes and stirs.

This painting is not meant to critique or deny the stage of life. Rather, it captures the moment of finding myself and confronting my heart directly within that setting. There must be a stage for there to be acting, and within that act, we feel the genuine self more desperately. The stage of life is the essential space for me to discover the truth and find my own rightful place.
