The Clown featured in this painting was inspired by a figure found in a Goguryeo mural. The mere fact that the Goguryeo mural survives to this day brings a deep emotional surge to me. Squinting my eyes and tracing the slowly fading silhouettes on the wall, there was a moment when the Clown's gestures deeply resonated in my heart.

Amidst the large, elaborate images of the powerful, the sight of the small, seemingly insignificant clowns silently performing their roles lingers with me in a strangely enduring way. They were not on a stage but in a corner of the mural, yet their presence was even more intense. Now that time has passed, I believe their talent and spirit are reawakening in my heart. The Clown, resurrected from the vanished mural, now crosses the waves of time and dances vigorously once again within my painting.
